Characterization of hydroxyapatite by cytotoxicity test and bending test

Abstract Hydroxyapatite has been synthesized as a bone graft material by analyzing the membrane made according to cytotoxicity test and bending test. The method used is dry ball milling. Cytotoxicity testing was carried out making isolated osteoblast cells cultured in 75 cm 2 cell flask containing minimum of essential media. Based on test, it found that hydroxyapatite not toxic with viability above 60% (non-toxic requirements ISO 10993-5). From variation mixture used, average (100.48 ± 11.98)%. A 2.5% Ag 5% also provides good viability, which 60%, means toxic. results analysis compressive showed larger mixture, lower results. maximum 10% 22.1 M.Pa 16 °ShD.
